Sorry to break the news, but although this cat appears to be “calming the baby,” it’s intentions aren’t so pure. If you look at the cat’s eyes within the first 5 seconds, you would see that the cat is in a state of lazy play and is looking at the baby’s flapping arms/hands. The ‘lick’ on the head and the paw on the forehead is normal cat play when it is holding down prey. Beautiful cat though. It is a good sign that the cat backed away when it went to lick/play bite! I’m sure these two will be buddies as the baby grows up.
